NEAR BY: This unique log cabin home is nestled between Clendening and Piedmont Lakes for your fishing and swimming pleasure.  You can be at either lake or their respective marina in just a matter of 2 or 3 minutes.   Boat rental is available, or bring your own.  We also are near such attractions as The Wilds, Salt Fork State Park, Deerassic Park Education Center, Jockey Hollow and Egypt Valley Wildlife Areas, Jamboree in the Hills, and Cabela’s, as well as other nearby Ohio tourism and historical sites.  Our rural gravel road is actually part of the Buckeye Trail and also the North Country Trail in Harrison County, in the tri-county area bordering on Guernsey County and Belmont County as well.   Ohio tourism in the area includes the cities of Barnesville, Cambridge, Freeport, Tippecanoe, and Cadiz, Oh where you can enjoy antiquing, shopping, pottery, flea markets, glassmaking, historical sites and museums, Boss Bison Ranch, and a working longhorn steer cattle ranch called The Dickinson Cattle Company, just to name a few.    

AMENITIES: This log cabin vacation home rental is fully furnished, and set up to sleep 8 comfortably. The first floor includes 2 bedrooms (queen and two twins), and our spacious second story loft has an additional queen plus two more twin beds. All bedding and linens are provided.  Your lodge is fully furnished with a picturesque Great Room, dining area, wood-burning fireplace, and Direct TV with a CD/DVD player. Our modern kitchen with granite counter tops is fully equipped to make your stay hassle free. We also have a full laundry on premises for your convenience. Spacious front and rear covered porches beckon you to step outside and enjoy the sunrise and sunset as well as outdoor dining in your own private tavern equipped with gas grill for outdoor cooking.  The tavern (rear porch) overlooks a hillside with wildlife feeding station where turkey, fox, and deer come to feed.  If birding is your thing, sit back and watch a variety of Ohio woodland song birds as well as migratory birds at the feeders near the cabin.  Get up close views of the antics of the hummingbirds at feeders dangling from the porch roof.  A great spot for nature photography as you relax so bring your camera.

Hike and explore our trails and streams or seek out the rock formations, ravines, and waterfalls located on the property.  Situated in Freeport, Ohio, Possum Lodge Cabins is equidistant from both Columbus and Cleveland, and can be reached from both cities in less than two hours. Pittsburgh PA and Wheeling WV are even closer (Wheeling is just a 47 minute ride from our cabin location).
