The Central Portage County Visitors and Convention Bureau can help you with all these services. We serve the communities of Brimfield Township, the City of Kent and the greater Portage County Region.  Highway connectors are I-76, the Ohio Turnpike and S.R. 43. Kent and Brimfield are approximately 10 miles east of Akron, 25 miles north of Canton and 31 miles southeast of Cleveland.

Portage County is home to Kent State University, Hiram College and the Northeast Ohio Universities College of Medicine.  The Kent State Museum houses the finest collection of fashionable clothing and furniture in existence between New York City and Chicago. 

We offer interesting shops and places to shop for unique gifts from artisans, craftsman and merchants or you can browse in more than 70 premium outlets in nearby Aurora. Here, you can savor a glass of wine at Viking Vinyards in Brimfield or enjoy the rustic atmosphere of Beckwith Orchard & Cider Mill.  Excellent fresh water fishing is available at nearby Mogadore Reservoir or, to the east, on Lake Hodgson.  In summers, kayaking is available on the pristine rapids of the Cuyahoga River as it passes through downtown Kent where visitors can enjoy live music and dining in a cozy, historic atmosphere. 

Bicyling The Portage Hike & Bike Trail, a spur of which links up with the bicycle trails of Summit County, is a popular activity.  Many come to visit beautiful Randolph Township where a replica of the shrine built in Lourdes, France stands at the historic Saint Joseph's Church.
