<!--StartFragment-->The Press-News, a weekly newspaper, covering southeastern Stark County and parts of Carroll and Tuscarawas counties, is 111 years old.
The paper was originally the Sandy Valley Press. The Press-News was created on Sept. 7, 1967, with the merger of three weeklies— 60-year-old Sandy Valley Press, 13-year old Observer and 29-year-old East Canton News.
In 1986, the paper was sold to the Alliance Publishing Company, a subsidiary of the Dix Corporation.  
Karen Mundy was named editor of the newspaper on March 19, 1987.
A Web site, www.the-press-news.com provides breaking news and videos of local, state, national and world events.
“Mundy’s Thursday” blog, on the site, is another opportunity for Mundy to give thoughts about life in the area.
