Tulipán Hungarian Pastry and Coffee Shop opened in 2004, but the idea for the shop was many years in the making. Owner Elizabeth Lakatos emigrated to the United States from Hungary in 1976, and she brought with her the traditional recipes of her mother and the generations before her.
Tulipán brings a turn-of-the-century European atmosphere to Wooster, combining an elegant aura with gracious service and mouth-watering desserts. Pastries are available in a wide variety of flavors and textures, from rich buttercream cakes to light, flaky croissants and strudels. In addition to pastries, Tulipán also offers the highest quality coffees and coffee drinks, as well as a daily selection of fresh and homemade sandwiches, soups, omelets and more.
In 2006, Tulipán received the honor of being named the "New Small Business of the Year" from the Wooster Chamber of Commerce. Elizabeth is happy to cater to your event or create an appetizer or desert tray to fit your needs!
